Class Discussion.  https://www.citynews1130.com/2021/05/28/vancouver-memorial-kamloops-children-residential-school/ What is reconciliation?  Reconciliation is the process of developing a respectful relationship between Indigenous and settler (i.e. non-Indigenous) people across Canada. It’s about working together to overcome the devastating effects of colonization. What is colonization?  In  Canada ,  colonization  occurred when a new group of people migrated to North America, took over and began to control Indigenous Peoples. Colonizers impose their own cultural values, religions, and laws, make policies that did not/do not favour Indigenous Peoples.
